Army arrests 15 Boko Haram suspects in Lagos
Security operatives in Lagos state have arrested a number of suspected members of Boko Haram, in the state. DailyPost gathered that some of the suspects were apprehended at Ijora Badia and Kotankowa areas and other parts of the state,
The General Officer Commanding,GOC, 81 Division of the Nigerian Army,
Major General Umahi, who made the disclosure while reviewing the
activities of the army in Lagos and Ogun State, said the Joint Military
Task Force, Ops MESA, arrested 1361 miscreants within the metropolis.
In addition, officers attached to the Quick Response Squad have
succeeded in arresting about 115 criminals along the Lagos-Ibadan
expressway.
The Quick Response Squad was created by the Chief of Army Staff to
assist the police by patrolling around flash points, along federal
highways.
“Those arrested by the Quick Response Squad include 71 males and 53
females. These criminals are among those terrorising innocent citizens
plying the route,” he said.
General Umahi explained that all the suspects have since been handed
over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.
